Before any medication use the patients are recommended to consult the doctor. He will help you with the treatment. Arcoxia is not exception and before start the treatment with this medication, you are also recommended to consult the doctor.

First of all, he will set a diagnosis of disease and will prescribe the required dosage after examination with taking into consideration all contraindications.

Dosage and treatment recommendations are indicated individually for each patient, however the standard average doses prescribed in the beginning of the treatment for definition of effective and safe dose used in the further treatment.

Arcoxia is taken orally, irrespective of food, with a small amount of water. The average drug dosage depends not only on the general health state, but also disease. So, in osteoarthritis the recommended dose makes 60mg once a day. In rheumatoid arthritis and Strümpell-Marie disease the recommended dose makes 90mg once a day.

In acute gouty arthritis the recommended dose makes 120mg once a day. Drug treatment should be prescribed with the lowest effective dose for the shortest term. Arcoxia is a fast-acting drug, therefore, effect is quickly revealed after Arcoxia taking. Duration of the treatment with 120mg drug dose should not exceed eight days. The standard therapeutic dose makes 60mg a day.

After taking, Arcoxia is quickly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Oral bioavailability makes about 100%. Antacids do not affect drug pharmacokinetics. Drug action is not changed in senior patients.  Drug is eliminated through the kidneys, mainly as metabolites.

You are recommended to strictly follow the prescribed drug dosage and the doctor’s instructions. Otherwise an overdose may be experienced. Symptoms of drug overdose may be revealed in the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system and kidneys.
